Moving FAQ

Straight answers about pricing, licensing, and how a move with Delta One Moving Companies actually works.

Still have a question?

Answer a handful of questions and get a firm number back in writing — US-75 rush-hour backups and North Texas summer heat already factored in, so nothing extra shows up once the truck arrives.

Below are the questions our office hears most from McKinney and Collin County households before they book. If your question isn’t covered here, call (469) 302-5518 and someone will answer it directly.

Is Delta One Moving Companies a real moving company, or do you just match me with one?
We're a real moving company — Everett Doyle has owned the trucks and employed the crew directly since founding Delta One Moving Companies in 2011. Nobody outside our office is ever assigned to your move.
What area do you actually cover?
McKinney and the rest of Collin County — Allen, Frisco, Plano, Prosper, Melissa, Anna, Celina, Fairview, Princeton, and Wylie — plus long-distance routes reaching into Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
How does your pricing work — is it a flat rate?
We price every move from a walkthrough or a detailed video call and give you that number in writing before move day. Whatever figure you sign is the figure on your invoice; there's no gap between the two.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We're a fully licensed and insured Texas household-goods moving company, and we'll provide a certificate of insurance to you, your building, or your HOA on request.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Two to three weeks gives you the widest choice of dates, though our office keeps same-day and last-minute openings for moves that come up on short notice.
What's actually included in a standard move?
Loading, transport, and unloading with our own crew and equipment are included in every quote; packing, storage, and specialty-item handling are added in as line items depending on what your walkthrough turns up.
Do you offer storage if my move date doesn't line up with my closing?
Yes — Tobias on our team manages short-term storage for exactly that situation, whether it's a closing delay or a new-construction home that isn't finished yet.
What's your cancellation or reschedule policy?
We ask for as much notice as possible, especially around busy weekends, but our office works with you to move a date rather than penalize a change of plans — call and we'll sort out the details for your situation.

Six Guarantees Behind Every McKinney Job

Every one of these is a commitment, not marketing copy — Everett and the crew hold to them on every Collin County job, from a narrow-street bungalow in Downtown McKinney to a two-story build further out past Prosper.

One Number, Start To Finish

The number Everett gives you on the phone is the number due at delivery — a slow US-75 crossing or a tight turn onto a Downtown McKinney street doesn’t change what you owe.

Texas-Registered, Fully Insured

We keep our Texas household-goods carrier registration active and on file, cargo coverage rides with every load, and a certificate of insurance reaches a Frisco or Prosper HOA board the same day they request one.

Payroll Crew, Not Day Labor

Every mover on your job is one of our own W-2 employees — we don’t fill a busy Saturday roster with gig-app strangers we’ve never worked with.

The Quote Holds, Full Stop

The figure Everett books you at on the phone is the figure due once the last box is off the truck — full stop, no carve-outs. Slow US-75 traffic, an awkward carry on a narrow Downtown McKinney street, sitting at an HOA gate check-in out in Prosper — that’s ours to eat, never yours.

One Crew, Start to Finish

The names Everett gives you at booking are the same people at your truck on move day — your crew never gets pulled mid-job to cover something else on the schedule.

A Window That Actually Holds

If the job ahead of yours runs long, that’s our headache to manage, not yours — the office rings you before it eats into your window, and we make it right if it causes real hassle.
